Abstract Art Movement Video
Abstract Art Movement Video Art 1
Abstraction Unit Ms. Alisa
Date Assigned: November 2/3 Due Date: November 24/25
Goal: To investigate a movement of abstract art and create a short video showing understanding
Explanation: The range of abstract art is so vast that it is difficult to understand it all. For this reason you will be focusing on a single movement in the history of abstract art. You will research the meaning and motivation behind the artwork, the significant artists that contributed to the movement, and the connections to history as well as other art movements. After creating a script, you will record yourself and combine the audio into a video presentation with examples of artwork and artists from that movement. The final result will be a video summary of the art movement.
Requirements:
Script:
You can think of this script as a research essay. You will complete research on your art movement and put it together IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Then you will use this to read as the audio for your video. If you are working as a pair you must both talk during the video.
Step 1: Preliminary Brainstorming Worksheet Due: Nov. 4/5
Step 2: Script Outline Due: Nov. 10/11
Step 3: Script Submitted to Turnitin.com Due: Nov. 16/17
Partners:
You may choose to work with up to one other person on this project. The other person may be from another block. If your partner is from another block the due dates will be based on the first due date for each assignment. Both you and your partner must work on all sections of the project including talking during the video. You and your partner will receive the same grade so choose carefully. If you are working in a pair then your video needs to be between 2:30-3:00 minutes in length. You do not need to work with a partner.
