Goals
Advanced Digital Art Semester Goals Ms. Alisa
The Advanced Digital Art class will be formed around the structure of student goals. The idea is for each student to choose one or two personal goals to focus on for the entire semester. With guidance from Ms. Alisa, students will work independently on completing the goal(s) by achieving weekly, monthly, and quarterly smaller goals that will build up to the completion of the larger goal(s).
The following is due to Ms. Alisa by end of class on Friday August 14th.
Create a new page on your website to record your goal.
1. Think Time
To begin, give a great deal of thought to your semester goal. Don’t be afraid to dream big, goals can always be adjusted as you grow through your process. However, be cautious of setting yourself a realistically reachable end result. Consult with Ms. Alisa for advice on your goal before proceeding in the planning process.
2. SMART Planning
Use the SMART goal planning method to break down your goal and reasons for pursuing it. Be sure your goal fits into each category. On your webpage write one paragraph for each SMART section. End your SMART planning by summarizing your goal in one sentence.
3. Timeline
On your webpage create a timeline for your goal. You must have the following:
End of Semester Goal =
End of Quarter One Goal =
End of September Goal =
End of August Goal =
End of Week 3 Goal =
End of Week 2 Goal =
End of Week 1 Goal =
We will continue to break down the weeks as the semester goes on. Again, goal steps can be adjusted as your process develops but it is necessary to start with this break down.
4. Proposal
Lastly write a proposal for your goal. This should include the following information:
1. What do you want to do?
Clearly describe your goal in detail
2. Why do you want to do it?
Personal interest? Career potential? Helping the community?
3. What are your specific goals?
What are some of your goal-steps and why did you break it down how you did?
4. How will I accomplish my goal?
What is your action plan? What resources will you use?
5. How will your internship connect with this goal?
Same subject/medium or related in another way?
6. How will I show what I learned?
What will your end result be? How will it translate into a grade?
