What is Abstract Expressionism?
Abstract Expressionism is an abstract art movement and style where artists show feelings/emotions only using colors, lines, shapes, and textures. The idea is to show the viewer how the artist was feeling without using anything realistic or representational.

Your task:
Create an artwork in the abstract expressionist style showing either happy feelings (joyful, fun, playful, free, excited) or negative emotions (anger, sadness, frustration, depression, etc)
Steps:
1. Choose one specific emotion (use this list to help)
2. Choose colors that represent that emotion
3. Choose lines that match that emotion
4. Gather your materials
5. Create your emotion using only colors and lines - do not create anything recognizable
*Be sure your name and class code is on the back of your paper in pencil
*If you are working digitally, be sure to save your work to the camera roll (even if it is not finished)
