Art IB Certificate Ms. Blundon Independent Project
It has come time for you to take ownership of your own learning in the arts. In which way would you like to improve yourself as an artist? Would you like to learn a new skill or further develop one you already know? Based on your interests your task is to choose a goal that can be completed in the next four weeks and record your process throughout the time.
Start date: October 4th, 2017 Due date: November 8th, 2017
Prompt: Set an artistic goal for yourself to learn or improve upon a skill.
Details: Properly plan out your goal, record your process diligently, and produce one or more finished pieces throughout the time. Be sure to use all of your four weeks but also not to set a goal too lofty that it cannot be completed in that time.
Materials: Your choice of materials from what is available in the art room. If we do not have the materials in the art room you will need to purchase them on your own.
Expectations:
· Goal Statement (approved by Ms. Blundon on Oct. 4th)
· Goal Proposal (due Oct. 9th)
· Weekly blog post updates (due Fridays: 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3) (Rubric)
· One or more finished piece (due Nov. 8th)
· Planning/brainstorming/sketching evidence (due Nov. 8th)
· Artist Statement/Reflection (due Nov. 8th)

1. Develop a clear goal statement
2. Get approval from Ms. Blundon
3. Write a goal proposal and submit to Ms. Blundon (USE THIS FORMAT)
4. Work on developing your skill through creating
5. Write weekly blog post updates depicting your progress (Process Journal Blog Post Rubric)
6. Create one or more final pieces
7. Write a reflection/artist statement
8. Hand in all work and present on Nov. 8th
