Painting is a tradition almost as admired as drawing, there is just something about dragging a brush soaked with color across a white paper that appeals to almost every artist. Students learn about the various tools and techniques associated with the painting center including setting up a 'painting space.' One of the beautiful parts of painting is the unexpected. The colors may be carefully placed to create what is imagined but often, intentional or not, there is bleeding (when one color paint blends with another). Often this is where artists usually begin to favor or find frustration with the painting center. Either way that allure of white paper calling for wet paint is enough for many artists to visit this center over and over again.
