Principles Project                                                                                                                                             AP 2D Design

Date Due: Tuesday August 18th at the start of class

Objective: Create a piece of digital artwork that shows one (assigned) principle of design

Explanation:

The Principles of Design are the cornerstone for the AP 2D Design portfolio. All artwork submitted to the portfolio will be evaluated on the innovative use of the principles of design. To begin our understanding of the principles of design you will be assigned a single design principle and will need to create a digital piece of artwork that demonstrates this principle. This artwork will be used as a guide and example for others, the name of the principle will need to be displayed clearly on the final piece of artwork.

The AP College Board labels the principles of art as "including but not limited to the following"

Unity, Variety, Balance, Emphasis, Contrast, Rhythm, Repetition, Proportion, Scale, Figure/Ground Relationships.
