What's Going On
In The Art Room?

Stop Motion Animation                                                                                                                                                                Digital Art
Animation                                                                                                                                                                          Ms. Alisa
Date Assigned: January 21, 2016                                                                                               Due Date: February 2, 2016

Goal: Students will create a stop motion animation.

Explanation: Choosing from one of four main styles of stop motion animation students may work individually or in groups of two to create a stop-motion animation video. Each video must meet time requirements specific to that style. The video must be planned using a story board before beginning creating. Remember; don’t create a stop motion of something that could just be filmed with video. The theme of the animation is transformation.

Styles:
  • Object based (stop-motion using various everyday objects)        minimum length: 3 minutes
  • Pixilation (stop-motion using people as the objects)                        minimum length: 4 minutes
  • Drawing (traditional pencil or pen drawing animation)                    minimum length: 1 minute
  • Clay (traditional Claymation animation)                                                  minimum length: 2 minutes

*Note, you should have at least 12-24 frames per second
Requirements:
  • Story board detailing the story and different shots (Due Monday January 25)
  • Completed animation
  • Smooth video resulting from adequate number of frames per second
  • Equal participation between partners
  • Creative story line relating to theme (transformation)
