Google Day Quarter 1 Update
Quarter 1 Update Art 1
Google Day Ms. Alisa
Due Date: A = September 29 E&G = September 30
Goal:
Art 1 students will create a written and visual update of their “Google Day” independent project as a summative grade and mid-way critique.
Explanation:
You have now worked on your “Google Day” project for one quarter of the school year. For four art classes you have planned, envisioned, and began working towards your semester goal. At this point I would like you to pause and reflect on the progress you have made over the past two months. You should have the following sections in your update:
1. Project Proposal
2. Reflection
3. Habits of Mind
Requirements:
1. Project Proposal
This should be a revised version of your project proposal that you turned in on GD #3. It should include your semester goal (how you plan to improve as an artist) as well as how you will show you have met your goal (what you will create).
2. Reflection
This section should be a revised version of your reflection that you turned in on GD #4. It should include your personal reflection on your process so far. Things to include are your planning/brainstorming of your idea (where did you get your idea?) and the evolution of the idea (did it change or adjust as you began the project?) Also include how your beginning steps went (did you run into problems? Did everything go as planned?)
3. Habits of Mind
Visit the grading rubric for the project. Specifically look at the questions in each category. Choose one section from the rubric that you feel you have been successful at so far and write about this. Choose one section that you feel you need to work to get better at next semester and write about this. Be specific to this project.
4. Photos of work
This should not be a separate section. Use the photos that you have been taking of your artwork in progress and include them in the sections above. Refer to specific photos when you are writing about specific areas of your artwork/process.
